2013 - THE YEAR IN CHRISTIAN MUSIC

A little house cleaning, if I may. It was recently noted that my share of Glenn Packiam's "Mystery Of Faith" was suspiciously missing tracks #3 and #5. The way I understand it is they weren't tracks at all. They were spoken word. As a matter of fact, track #3 was called "The Nicene Creed" and can be found on youtube, and track #5 was called "Prayer Of Confession."
It was also noted that The After's "Life Is Beautiful" album I shared in my last 2013 bundle had some encoding/cracking noises. I have since acquired a fixed copy of that album which I am including in this 14th bundle today, for those interested in replacing their faulty copy.
And, speaking of this 14th bundle, there are some really good ones in here today including Fred Hammond's long awaited "United Tenors", Kurt Carr's two disc "Bless This House" which I have been unsuccessful in finding until just recently, Martin Smith's full length "God's Great Dance Floor - Step 1", and many others.

If you've been following any of my torrents here on The Pirate Bay, you'll know that I am often asked to share discographies. And although I certainly don't mind investing the effort to gather and create the discography, it is a little disheartening when, in some cases after only 24 hours or less, the discography dies because nobody who downloaded it bothered to stay around to seed/support it.
To anyone wanting to rejuvenate an old discography of mine, but perhaps don't know how, here's a quick walk through... (1) find the torrent you want to share (2) make a copy of your previously downloaded folder. I suggest making a duplicate copy to ensure nothing happens to your original. (3) click on, and download the dot torrent file (4) rename the copied folder to the same file name as the dot torrent file you just downloaded. So, for example, your copied folder might simply be called "33 Miles", where as the dot torrent file was called "33 Miles Discography 2007-2010 (3 Releases)" (5) open your torrent client (6) within your client, now open that dot torrent file you downloaded in Step #3 above (7) your client will think you are a downloader so it will ask you where you want to save the music to. Point it to the location where you performed Step #2. Your client will then realize you already have the songs, and you will become a seeder.

I've had a chance to recently connect remotely to a couple of different computers. People I didn't necessarily know. Lately, it seems, I'm the go-to person to fix various computer problems. And it's always an extra cool feeling to see some Christian music, Christian wallpaper, or some other form of Christ on those hard drives. To learn that you're helping out a fellow Believer.
And yet it's even more, dare I say "humbling", to learn they've been downloading some of these "The Year In Christian Music" bundles. And they don't even know it's me who has been torrenting them.
"I really like Beckah Shae, and Matthew West. I discovered them in some of these music bundles", one person told me.
God's clearly at work here my friends. Please add to that by doing your part. Burn a disc for a friend. Continue to torrent a day or two longer than normal. Encourage your children to learn a new Christian song tomorrow. Introduce a neighbor to a Christian artist this weekend. Play some Christian, instead of secular, on your drive into work tomorrow morning. But most of all, thank God almighty for His merciful glory in all things, including these songs we're able to share with one another here today.

If you have downloaded any of this Christian music from me in the past, and haven't yet introduced yourself, I would appreciate it if you took a quick moment to say "hi" in this thread today.
I've been faithfully sharing these "The Year In Christian Music" bundles since back in 2011. For me, that means searching out and collecting anything current, Christian related of course, from Worship to Screamo. From Alternative to Gospel. From Reggae to Rap. Most of which I will never personally listen to, but happily archive so I can include them in these bundles for others to enjoy.
And aside from the bundles themselves, I've also been torrenting here on The Pirate Bay since 2009. And elsewhere online for much longer than that.
My collection has grown so large that I recently had to build a secondary desktop computer with three individual internal 3 terabyte drives, just so that I could continue onward with this ministry. I haven't yet migrated over to the new desktop, but will need to shortly as I don't have a lot of faith in my external backup drives.
All of that to say I've been struggling with the direction I feel God wants me to take. Sure I know this music is appreciated. So long as God is glorified, nothing else matters. Amen? But I could use a little encouragement. So if you've not yet said "hi", please consider doing so in this thread today. And if you would sooner remain anonymous, I can certainty appreciate that too. Please pray for that direction for me.

Many days my speeds feel no faster than an old 300 baud modem. But I continue to do what I can in sharing all over the internet. And I continue to pray that this music doesn't just end at the tip of your ear buds today, but you instead are moved to share the music with others, just as the message of the gospel has been so very freely shared with you.

Capemusic wrote a very nice message in my 26th bundle in which, among other things, he spoke of his struggles of whether or not it was right or wrong to download music in this fashion as we are doing today.
When I read his message for the first time this morning, I couldn't help but to immediately think of the persecution of Christians in China following the Jiaqing Emperor in the early 1800's who would sentence Christians to death for spreading the Word of God. To say it was "against the law" to martyr for God in China would be an understatement.
In a less detrimental and punishing way, it is in fact against the law to do what you and I are doing with this music. Make no mistake about it! But did the threat of a beheading stop those Christians in China from uplifting Christ? Should the thread of a lesser punishment stop you and I from martyring and spreading His Word through this music which we're sharing today? I don't believe so.
I've always maintained that we're individually accountable for how far we want to go for Christ. I would gladly die for His sake, just as He died for my sins. and I hope the majority of you feel the same way.
I remember my Pastor once preaching a sermon on the matter, where he used war as an analogy. A battle line. Those closest to the man in charge are far more likely to get shot down. Killed. Those further away, standing in the back of the attack line, are less likely to get harmed. In a very similar way, those willing to stand up and do the right thing for the Christ will in fact be persecuted to the utmost by those against Him.
2 Timothy 3:12 ΓÇô In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. John 15:18 ΓÇô If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 1 Peter 3:16-17 ΓÇô Keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. For it is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
So my prayer is as it always it. Download this music. Share it with as many people as possible. Be encouraged and inspired by it. Don't let the message within the lyrics keep you from the real thing ... reading your Bibles and going to Church. Support the artists who's music you intend on making a staple of your collections. Purchase their music. Pray for their ministry. And above all else, glorify Him in all you do, including your role in this torrent today.

So far this year, we have been able to freely share 30 torrent bundles amongst one another here on The Pirate Bay. Amen! That amounts to over 60 gigabytes of music, and an impressive 814 Christian releases so far to date. And counting.
As always my goal, I hope to reach 1000 titles by the end of the year. And with four more months to go, and only 186 titles shy of that 1000 goal, it seems safe to say that we will surpass 1000 yet again this year.
For anyone new to these "The Year In Christian Music" bundles, I started them back in 2011. I got a late start that year, and because of limited time and bandwidth, I was only able to share 36 bundles amounting to 964 releases for 2011. A mere 36 titles shy of 1000.
We fared so much better in 2012 where we shared 55 bundles, which accounted for 1461 releases. Well surpassing that 1000 goal.
So whether we hit 1000 this year, or if we even do better than the 1461 we shared last year, please remember that it only takes one album, no one song, or even one lyric to turn someone onto Christ. And if we've been able to achieve that even once since 2011, then we can all take comfort in knowing the Lord has used us all in reaching that objective for His glory.
